Why don’t I hear about this on the news?

A:

Mainstream media sources have been reluctant to cover stories that reflect negatively on the current administration. It is up to us to seek out news that is void of political bias on either side.

Q:

Where are the migrants from, and are they vetted?

A:

Most of the migrants are from 3rd world countries such as Brazil, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, and others. Due to the high volume of migrants, there is very little, if any, vetting being done with respect to health screenings or criminal background checks.

Q:

Isn’t it humane to support migrants coming to America?

A:

Making the trek to the southern border is extremely dangerous and widely controlled by cartels. Migrants who make the trek may end up dead, abused, or sexually assaulted. Cartels are billion-dollar criminal enterprises that engage in murder, torture, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.

Nearly 110,000 deaths in the US in 2022 were due to drug overdose. Fentanyl seizures have increased more than 800 percent since 2019. Criminals pour into our country undetected. There is nothing humane about exploiting the suffering of migrants or the havoc that is unleashed upon American Citizens with drugs and crime.

How long will the migrants be here?

A:

We are uncertain as to how long we can expect migrants to be housed in our communities. It is assumed that these individuals are awaiting hearings which may take years. Some may be asylum-seekers, but simply fleeing violence or poverty is not grounds for asylum, so most migrants do not qualify. For this reason, a large percentage of migrants may skip their asylum hearing and remain in the country illegally.

Once here, what benefits are the migrants receiving?

A:

In addition to free housing at an estimated cost of $700 per week per family, migrants also receive medical care, education, transportation, catered meals, and a monetary stipend. The Governor has also made legal services available to the migrants, and members of the National Guard have been deployed to assist the migrants.

Who pays for the migrant benefits?

A:

YOU DO! Whether it is through your federal, state, or local taxes, YOU are footing the bill for this.

Q:

The migrants aren’t American Citizens, so they aren’t legally allowed to drive or work, correct?

A:

The Work and Family Mobility Act that was passed in June of 2022 allows migrants to obtain drivers’ licenses. On September 14, 2023, Governor Healey also sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security outlining requests to grant work authorization for migrants.

Q:

What is the migrant situation in other states?

A:

Migrants are being sent to other cities, with the most overburdened one being New York City which is currently receiving approximately 10,000 migrants per month. On September 7, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams sounded the alarm by publicly stating “this issue will destroy New York City.”
